The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

I retired in 2000 having taught in Cinnaminson and Philadelphia public schools (primary classroom and English as a second language) intermittently for 29 years. I've also taught in several countries around the world and still teach as a volunteer. In 1983 I joined co-counseling and since 1988 have been teaching this process which has changed my life. I never married, but in 1991 a 31 year-old Chinese immigrant and I "adopted" each other. Liz made me a grandmother in 2002 and I spent 20 months in metro Atlanta, GA helping to raise my new grandson Ethan while she worked as a pediatrician. My first love and continuing passion is dancing, then travel and genealogy. I combined them all on a genealogy cruise a few years ago where I won a dance contest! Since 1962 I've traveled to 122 countries including about 44 states, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. There are about 500 dolls and hundreds of slides, postcards and photos in my international collections. I have been organizing reunions (family, school, and old neighborhood) since 1992 and am a board member of the Olney Alumni Association and the Jewish Genealogical Society. Since 1995, I've been a traveler and host of Servas, as well as with Couchsurfers, both international peace organizations that hold that the best way to make peace is by getting to know each other via staying in each other's homes (for free!).
